Starting in the spring of 2023, the UMEB team transitioned into building our first race boat designed specifically for high speed performance. Our goal was to break the electric water speed record, which at the time was set at 88.61 mph by Jaguar Vector (2018). The project began with high level system design during the spring and summer of 2023, and culminated with four runs at the 2025 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, where TiDE won the electric class and made us the first ever collegiate team to compete at the event.
